what is the best way to Potty training a puppy?

i have a almost an 8 week puppy , i don’t know what is the best way to Potty training him
please help
oh and no one will be in the house for about 8 hours where should i put peepee pad next to his crate??
First use newspaper and if he poopoo’s or peepee’s somewhere else that isn’t the newspaper, put vinegar there and rub his nose on it while saying no. But only do the vinegar thing if you see him doing his buisness on the floor. If you’re not gonna be there, put him in a crate or outside.

You really need to make the commitment to bringing the puppy outside every two hours or so and right after they eat.. After the puppy goes praise him or her a lot so they get the idea. When my dogs were babies I alway kept them in the kitchen when I would be away for hours. I never crated my dogs and would leave newspaper down for them.

Just a couple observations about your post:
1) You say that you have "almost an 8 week puppy". Whoever sold you, gave you, dumped this pup on you should be ashamed! That little guy is not ready to leave his litter mates and momma until reaching 8 weeks old! This can cause severe socialization, training, potty issues down the road.
2) A puppy is not meant to "hold it" for 8 hours, to accomodate the owner’s schedule. It is unrealistic to expect him to, as most full-grown adults must use the facilities at least every 4 hours.
3) By putting out "puppy pads", you are teaching your little guy that it is OKAY to GO in the house. In addition to training him to "make do" in the place where you live, you also have to UN-train him to go in the house — and go outside.
The best way is to be consistent, have your eyes peeled on your pup at all times that they are not kenneled, and have a ton of patience and TREATS!

i got my puppy when he was 12 wks old hes now nearly 20wks old its taken me 8 wks of follwing him around and telling him good boy after ive noticed him sniffing and putting him outside and hes gone toilet lets face it u wouldnt let your baby run around without nappy when hes very young and the last thing on your puppys mind when hes playing is oh wheres my potty place you have to show him,true ok not every1 can be around their dog all day but im finally there he now sleeps and the foot of our bed i take him down to garden at 7ish and i say good boy and he goes good luck im knackered and was so stressed but it worked in the end

Start with kennel training her - have her inside of a crate or kennel whenever you are not able to watch her. Give her water and food in the kennel and be sure to regulate how long she has access to it (dont free feed her - or water her right now)- but be sure to offer it often - after 10-20 minutes let her out of the kennel and WALK her (do not carry her) to the door - as best you can… to let her do her business outside. After naps - do the same - take her immediately outside - its best if she’s aloud to walk herself - rather then you carrying her - so she knows the way -
The smaller kennel is better at this stage as dogs dont want to poop or pee where they sleep
As she grows - advance the size of the area she sleeps in, like maybe to a bathroom? But continue to follow the rules strictly - don’t water and feed her unless you can be sure to take it out after she’s had a drink - and take her out within the 20 minutes or so-
You’ll note that your puppies can’t hold the urine or stool for very long at this age - so mistakes will hapen! Dont reprimand just try to take the stool outside so they can smell where the toilet is! Offer the toilet often!
This works - be sure to stay dedicated and you’ll be able to slowly start allowing your dog free roam of the house once they realize the house is where they sleep - not poop!
