<< Puppy Training Detection Work, Malinois Puppy  Potty Training Boxer Puppies???? >>

I have a 11 week puppy. Sometimes after taking her out to do her business she comes in and does it inside the house but not in the training pad. Why does she do it when i just took her outside?
any pooty training tips?

I have housebroken at least 15 dogs in my lifetime. The absolute best way to train a dog is by crate training. As a small puppy, the dog is in the crate when not being taken out potty, feeding, or being played with. Puppies are a lot like babies, they sleep a lot. A good hint is that as soon as the puppy wakes up–take him out. Do NOT use pads or paper unless you want him to do that his whole life.

Even when he is out of the crate and you are playing with him, leave the crate door open. At some point, he will think of the crate as his space.

I kept my dogs crated when not home until they were probably about 2 years old. Puppies and teen dogs like to chew things up, so a crate eliminates a lot of damage that could be done.

Be sure the crate is big enough to still fit the dog when it is full grown.

there’s a training pad you can buy at the pet store. give a treat if your puppy pees on it . if the puppy pees somewhere say bad dog

Shove her nose in the poop and give her a severe beating she will NEVER forget. I guarantee she won’t make the same mistake twice.

first of all DONT USE TRAINING PADS they make the dogs think its okay to pee in the house so when you want to potty train them completly and take away the pads they will just go in the house again trust me your better off not using them. Take your puppies outside and stay out there with them for like 10 15 mins and when they go to the bathroom outside praise them and try using treats thats what i did everytime my dog went outside i praised her and gave her cheese(her favorite treat) and then if she went inside i told her she was a bad dog and left it at that and then she relized that she only gets treats when she goes outside so stopeed going inside it works try it.

Are you open to crating her? Some people think its cruel, but they actually will find it comforting to have a cozy place of their own. Or, you can isolate her to a small area. My daughter got a "playpen" for her puppy - with her dog bowl in one corner, bed in another and a pad in another so that there really wasn’t much space for anything else.

She doesn’t understand yet that you want her to do it outside.
I’d say ditch the puppy pads. And never rub their noses in it or punish them for their accidents because it WON’T help them. It’ll just make them scared, nervous, and not trust you. My dogs do as I say and I never had to hit them!
The problem with puppy pads is they’re still relieving themselves inside the house. Your house will always smell, and they could easily mistake a rug or magazine or what have you on the floor for a puppy pad.
The crate method: if done correctly, I’ve never heard of it failing on any dog, any age (unless there’s a medical reason they can’t control their waste). http://www.inch.com/~dogs/cratetraining.html
For my 3 year old puppy mill survivor, I had to do strict crate training. That means she spent about 90% of her day in her crate for the first week (Sounds harsh, but she loves her comfy crate. It’s much better than where she was before. In puppy mills, the dogs are reverse potty trained; NEVER leave their cages and are forced to sleep in a cage with their waste, or share a cage with other dogs and their crap too). If there was any chance at all of her going potty, she was not allowed to wander on the floor. She was either in my arms or in her crate; she’d only wander free if she was outside. They can squat so fast you can’t stop them! It was hard, but you need to train her, use a little bit of tough love to teach her how to be a good pet.
I’d take her out the same times everyday, your little one might need to go out more often, maybe every 2 hours at first? When you open the crate, immediately take her outside. If she successfully does both poo and pee, you can let her play in the house loose for a while (not so long that she’s ready to potty again). If she didn’t, she’ll have to go back in her crate. She will get the message. The idea here is to prevent accidents so that you don’t have to punish her. You set her up for success instead. After 2-3 weeks of never pottying inside the house, she won’t want to potty inside anymore as it will feel uncomfortable for her.

my pup did the same thing. but if i caught her in the act id take her out immediatley so she would know to do her business out there. she also gets a treat every time she poops outside so she expects it now. i also trained her to ring a bell when she wants out. i just got an inexpensive bell and tied it to a string and hung it from the door. she hits it with her nose to go out. i trained her because when she got to the point of sitting at the door when she needed to go out i wouldnt always see her so i would ring the bell and say the work outside and eventually she picked up it and now rings it. it takes some time about 2 months after having the dog they should be pretty well potty trained but if they are pups they may still have accidents with their little bladdeers. but the training pads worked a little but i tried to use it outside to teach her but she just picked it up to go bathroom outside. u may have to take the pad outside and put it where u want her to go. it didnt work for my dog but each dog is different. just be religious with everything u do and they will learn.
